I created 5 new folders in an effort to get my stuff organized. I then moved items into these folders. I noticed that the items remained in the main inventory, so I deleted them.
They were deleted and so were the items in the folders. I lost 39 very important listings, some I can not recreate. Does anyone know why auction watch gives you folders?
I mean why have items in two places. This is killing me!

Hi Jschliem,

It is impossible to delete an inventory folder which contains items. Also moving an inventory item from one folder to another works as expected: the item is moved and is present only once, in the designated folder.

Maybe you changed the storefront category for an item. In this case, the inventory item remains in the same inventory folder, but it is visible to your buyers in the designsted shop category. This explains the problem you have described.

If you have other questions regarding invemtory folders / shop categories, do not hesitate to contact me.

Believe me, the files are gone. I did nothing with the store items. I created folders, and then moved the items from the MAIN inventory area to the folders and then when I found that I had items in two areas; I deleted the items from the MAIN INVENTORY AREA.
This removed them from the new folders, and main inventory area too. They are now gone. I need to recover them. I have asked this in an e-mail to you, and have not received a reply.
This is a stupid idea. Why have access to folders and have items reside in two areas?
All I wanted was to break up my inventory items into separate folders, and have them located in one, easy to find area. Now look what I have. 39 listings gone.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Hello jschleim,

I think that what you are referring to as the "main inventory" is really the default view "all folders". This will allow you to move items from folder to folder, but in order to view only those items you need to click the folder name. If you had the view set on "all folders" and you deleted the items, they would have been removed from inventory altogether.

I hope this makes sense, and I am sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

Hi, Maybe this will help. I recently deletely very important pictures that I absolutely had to have for my business. I used the Norton System unerase and was able to find and restore them. You must do it quickly as it will be over written in time. You can recover your folders that way I'm sure. Nothing is ever truly deleted until you do a clean sweep of your harddrive. You won't believe how much this Norton system has saved me. It does everything. I'm sure other type of services are available that would do the same thing.
