I won an auction on eBay last night and completed the transaction with a
seller who uses "AnotherWebsite that really works".
Immediately after the auction, I received an e-mail with clear, concise
information - no gibberish, no invalid HTML. (This was even before eBay
sent out the notice!)
The link in the e-mail took me to "AnotherWebsite that really works". The windows were so incredibly clean and easy to fill out, I was astonished.
From the final window, a link took me directly to a "payment website who said they were my pal", with all of
the pertinent information pre-filled, and I concluded the transaction.
Within a minute there two e-mails: one, the invoice from "AnotherWebsite that really works"; the second, the confirmation from the "payment website who said they were my pal". I was
one incredibly satisfied winner! And for a transaction amount that was
less than $10.00!
I sent a letter of "thanks" to the seller for the shear ease-of-use of
that experience. I asked him if the site also handled "multiple wins" in
a similar manner.
He responded by saying "yes!" (and told me that as a former AuctionWatch.com user, he
has been very happy using the competition).
So AW, listen up!
When can you enhance this site so that my winners will be as thrilled as
I was last night - over something as mundane as an auction win and the
ease with which it was finalized?
We saw the survey, a while back, about what the "home page" could/should
look like. When's that supposed to debut?
We've submitted countless requests for enhancements - all of which have
been forwarded to engineering. When are we supposed to see >any< of
them?
You know that the top issues are you inability to process mulitple wins
and dutch auctions. When I joined up in January of this year those were
issues. When are they going to be addressed?
I went to the other site this morning - imagine, two weeks free to try
it out. I'm going to take them up on the offer and see if the grass is
actually greener.
Christopher - if you get a chance to read this, and have any comments,
you can contact me at [email protected].
Thanks!
