Is everyone here just reading and leaving posts, or are you listing on Yahoo presently? Any results? Have the decrease in listings meant anything for your sales?
I am going to spend down my "funny money" and hoping maybe to sell something, but from the past I know it's rather a crap shoot.

I am having a large percentage of the paid for (with credits) listings close unsold.
These are the things that I thought most likely to sell and so it is not very promising.
Hard to believe, but based on what I am hearing, you have just about as much chance to sell something on Bidville as you do on Yahoo which is basically nothing less than stupefying to me.
This means that since the credits will eventually run out on Yahoo, time is better spent moving auctions over to Bidville as opposed to re-listing them on Yahoo.
I am still in deep shock. I was selling about $100 a day on Yahoo. I am selling about $25 a week now, and expect that to drop!

Hi VM - that's not very good news. : - (
I am listing things that I think are nice and would sell on ebay, but given that, I'm not willing to risk letting them go for rock-bottom prices, so my starting bid is a bit higher. That could kill the action, I suppose.
Actually, ebay is doing so well right now it's hard to feel really motivated about supporting other sites. I just believe it's important to diversity, esp. if Amazon goes under [I sell frequently on Marketplace].

I've eliminated a lot of my odd items I had on Yahoo , when the last of the free lists ended. *L* BUT, It was so bare with no listings, I couldn't stand it. I decided to list my bottles I sell, and normally do well with on Yahoo, but NOT on Ebay for some reason (too many there). I have to admit, I have had decent sales, and hopefully, will sell them all out before I run out of funny money. I'm not sure the sales quite justify it , if I have to pay.

I thought I was doing O.K. compared to a lot of sellers. The bids were down, but not too much. However, I am having trouble collecting payment. I have about 10 auctions I am trying to collect on, and a few more I have given up on. I never had this problem before, maybe one deadbeat in 3 months. It makes me wonder where the bids really came from. I have filed 'non-payment' complaints, but have not seen any credit for listing fees. I have stopped listing while I decide what to do.

I haven't listed anything on Yahoo for a looooong time but I just posted some auctions to Yahoo this morning. I'll let you know how it goes.
I have been doing a lot of bidding on Yahoo lately and have not been able to win ANY of the stuff I've bid on. I keep getting outbid. Some of the stuff I've been bidding on has been stuff I wanted for re-sale, so I wasn't willing to pay much, but some of it has been for my own collection and I was willing to pay a bit more, and I STILL got outbid. To me (speaking as a seller) this is a very good sign.

Hate to admit it but I'm selling very well at Yahoo. Lot's of bids, some at outrageous prices.
I ran a no reserve auction at eBay, Yahoo & Bidville. Lost money at Bidville, ebay was second at market price and Yahoo provided the best sale price with a premium to market price. No FVF is nice so I came out way ahead.

Bidville is picking up, don't give up on them. It's a new site.
One thing that is getting my loyalty for them, THEY ACTUALLY READ YOUR E-MAILS WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. Can we say the same thing about yahoo???
I have not received a single form e-mail from Bidville. Everytime I've had a problem or concern they've read the email, owned up if they had a problem (compare that to yahoo), and responded in a timely manner. I've not had that with either yahoo or ebay. I just now received an e-mail from them concerning two of my auctions where the links wouldn't work. They fixed them, explained to me in the e-mail what had happened, thanked me for alerting them to the problem, and was very polite and professional.

Interesting thought on all those bids on YaWho. I bid on one item (desperation set in as I swore not to do so). No bids for 4 days as I watched the item debating whether or not to bid after a very snotty email from the seller regarding my questions. As soon as I bid 2 or 3 others started bidding and the price went up, up, up! Ended and I DID NOT WIN the auction. Received an email shortly informing me the other bidders had backed out and I needed to purchase the item. Exactly who was bidding and why didn't they pay? And as I suspect YaWho behind it to make things look better for the sellers left I would NOT PAY the highest amount I bid anyway.

I actually have several closing today with bids. However, only one with multiple bids, so while its nice to make the sales, I'm not jumping up and down or anything.
We have been very selective with what we list at yahoo, so that could be why we've seen more sales lately. Also, many repeat customers have bid on some of our stuff.
The good thing is, that of everything that has closed since the fees started, I only have one payment outstanding. I do like that low percentage of deadbeats.

forshoppin,
You need to purchase the item?
On Yahoo the underbidder always had the option to purchase, or not to purchase without prejudice. Did this change with the listing fees?

I will not make the purchase. I don't know if the seller is just nasty or what. The first email I received from her would lead me to believe that.
What makes me wonder is where the other two sellers that outbid me went? If you look at the closed auction now, it shows me as the only bidder. Why would I pay $17.00 for an item that started out at $10.00 and I am the only bidder?

forshoppin,
last i heard you wouldn't have to in that circumstance. the seller can't make you pay for the auction since you weren't the winner.

For a little while my sales were nil at Yahoo. Then all of a sudden they picked up again and they are just as good now as they were before the listing fees began. I have had only one deadbeat since the change, but then I didn't really have that many before the change took place.
I have listed on Dutchbid and Bidville. No luck whatsoever. At Dutchbid I do get so lookers, but not a single bid. I put a lot into that site too, I hope in the end it pays off for me...but who knows?? Bidville is as dead for me as Golds was...no I take that back...it is deader than Golds. At least at Golds I did make some sales and sometimes people looked at my items more than once. At Bidville the only item that has even been looked at was looked at by me!! I went and looked at just see if the counters were working and unfortunately they are! Which means no one is looking at Bidville. At least not at my stuff.
I just got finished telling my husband that as far as auctions go, Ebay and Yahoo are still the only places that I find anyone buying at.
And that is depressing.

Hello,
I sell fishing lures on Yahoo and have had considerable sales after listing fees were implemented! Which was much to my suprise. They initially had over 1200 listings prior to 1/10/, which dropped to a all time low of less than 300. Thye #'s of listing has been on a steady increase since 2/20. Now nearing 400 again. I realize that this category didn't drop as dramatic as many others did. However, If the rate of increase remains the same, business might possibly be back to normal before too long!

My listings are down but my sales are about the same. That means my sales are higher then they used to be because I list so much less. I plan to stay on Yahoo as long as they are around and I am making a profit. I still do my best on Ebay and my own website but I surely would miss the money I make from Yahoo. I also won another 100.00 last week in the paydirect contest so that was cool and as long as I am using that I am not pay fees to paypal or billpoint. Now I know Paydirect will charge some time but until they do they are saving me money.
I also have been getting a few small bidding wars like on my Power puff girls stuff etc. . . That is new on Yahoo at least for me. I usually got 1 maybe 2 bids 3 if I was lucky so that turns into more profit.
sometime I may list on Bidvill but for now I see it a waster of time. I moved a lot of my books to half.com I was wavering on that but it turned out to be a good move.
best advice to make real money. Spread your eggs around : )
Well me and the flu are going back to bed. I have never slept so much . . .

I seem to be in the minority here. I have sold NOTHING in the last 5 or 6 days. As slow as I have ever seen it.
I am slowly moving stuff to Bidville where I will forget about it.
Someone wake me up if something sells
I will start listing on Yahoo in the fall if it is still there. Maybe.

Yahoo = None
Eay = 100% but I start everthing at very low, and fees cut deep into profit.
Bidville = 12 sells with no dead beats so far, and today when I checked I have 4 auctions with bidders. this will be the first time I've ever had more than 1 bidder at a time.
Paypal = I closed my account after they tryed a charge back on my accout. I was covered under there sellers Ins. But they still took the money for a month before returning it.
Paydirect = Closed account
Good luck to all where ever you sell.

I only sold 1 of 10 paid ads the first cycle. This cycle I listed 25, I already have 4 bids and all ads still have 8 days left. I decided to erase my buy prices and make them all regular auctions for a change. As a result (I think) about a dozen show they've been added to a watchlist or two. I'll keep my fingers crossed they don't forget to snipe LOL. Actually I used to see my first bid win ads added to watchlists frequently and never sell. By the way, I'm using free wallet credit, I still have no confidence in paying real money to Yahoo.

I'm afraid to say anything in case I jinx my sales. I am truly puzzled and can't explain it. Could Yahoo be doing some advertising?

Irene,
No, YaWho isn't advertising. You've just been lucky (or have one of the few "HOT" items that's selling).
I'm listing with my feedback credits now, but it's not looking good. Even listings that get pageviews don't get bids. I don't have any 14k diamond rings to sell for $1.00, and that seems to be what's moving.

CAgrrl,
You didn't miss much. She gave a vague hint that she sells automotive somethings, and she told us a couple weeks ago that NO ONE ELSE sells what she does, so it's doubtful you could find a ready supply of her **HOT Automotive Widgets** to sell even IF you could figure out what they are!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, no sales for me so far. I'll take my auctions down as they close, and try some new things as long as my "free money" lasts, but it's not encouraging, despite less competition in my categories.
On the other hand, ebay has been a bit slow this week too.

Granee:
My post and subsequent edit was a experiment. I have been debating with myself in the last couple of weeks on how much it is safe to reveal (including my Yahoo ID which would show my closed auctions) temporarily on a public board for the benefit of other posters and whether my wish to edit out the information at a later time would be respected.
Now I know.
