They must think we're ready to go postal after what we just went through with Yahoo's fees. AW posted fee info in every forum except here. Pretty mysterious AW!

LOL Quickdraw! I had noticed that too.
I really don't think Yahoo sellers need AW's services though. For one thing, Yahoo hosts all the pics for free, and if they are submitted directly to Yahoo they will also be in the free gallery. Also, it doesn't matter when you post your auctions, because you can schedule the time you want them to end at. Which means that you can post them at 3:00 am and still have them end at a decent hour.
Auctions submitted through AW wouldn't be in the gallery and therefore would have a much lower chance of selling (and who wants to DECREASE their chances of selling???) Yahoo also has its own bulk lister (I don't use it but it's there if i wanted to.) I think they are offering some auction management software now too but I haven't bothered to check it out, it's easy enough for me to manage the few auctions I have left running on Yahoo right now.
Did any of you other "Yahoos" even notice or care about the uproar over in the other forums?

I noticed it, all right!!! I can't blame everyone for being upset, since it seems AW wants to get a piece of the shrinking seller's pie, along with eGreed, Pay(me)Pal, Blackthorne, the USPS, and all the rest.
I just assumed, when AW posted their fee announcement on the other boards but not HERE, that no one selling on Yahoo USES AW to launch their auctions, especially since doing so would mean there would be no "show only photos" thumbnail photo.
What I DIDN'T realize was just HOW MANY eBay sellers launch their auctions from AW---an INCREDIBLE number. I browsed eBay a few nights ago when AW was down (at least it was down FOR ME, along with PayDirect---meaning I couldn't list on Yahoo until it came back up). Every listing with AW-hosted photos had broken links to the images, and it was about HALF of all the listings I came across.
I think most of the eBay sellers launching from AW have been using it for the ability to choose the ENDING TIMES for their auctions, as well as the photo hosting, template and management features. And I think the **overwhelming majority** of them can't afford the proposed AW fees on top of other seller fees and lower bid prices realized.
The fees were a poorly-thought-out move by AW with TERRIBLE timing, and they won't fly unless reduced considerably.

CAgirl, If you're still listing on Yahoo, I would recommend downloading and checking out Yahoo's seller manager. So handy and simple you really don't have to "learn" it. Very much like listing on their site but you just list all your items on the seller manager and with one click they're all uploaded and listed.
Makes me sad that they didn't have this when I was still listing with them. But I'm hoping to use it sometime in the future if/when they adjust their fees.

quickdraw; That's funny. I hadn't even thought about it. I guess they figure everyone's so "mental" here they didn't want to risk it.
On the negative side, if you're really hooked on these message boards, I have strong doubts that AW is going to make it.
Not that I have any "inside" info. Just the
impression I get from bits and pieces.

sasoony- thanks for the tip! I will take a look at it, since you put it like that.
Have you guys noticed other little things about yahoo getting easier and easier? like now when you leave feedback for a customer you can save your 10 favorite comments? neato burrito, huh?
kasmoon- I would never in a MILLION years guessed that that many people used AW to launch Yahoo listings. That is a whole lotta stuff considering how bare the listings are at Y now. I wonder if those are all the same people who whine and complain that they can't sell anything on yahoo? If so, the explanation is really simple, they can't sell because no one is viewing their stuff when searching by photo only.

Hey folks!
I belive this is where AW came up with the FVF since that is what many wanted here!
I was trying NBCI Auctions a few months ago , but already gave up there!
They have what many wanted here! Just FVF and no listing fee and you can relist every two days! Downfall is you have to reload on the forth day with the bulk loader, since they only allow one relist!
I listed about 30 items there a couple times at low book start prices and no reserves with mine being 2/3 of the auctions posted and hoped someone would find them! No action!
One of our Yahoo sellers found them in my primary category and they have been listing 300 auctions with relist every two days and higher then HIGH book prices and a reserve for over a month now! Just to lead prospective buyers to their Geocities site where they really sell!
I notified NBCI, but they do not seem to grasp the problem!
I still believe if Yahoo or any other FREE site would have started with say a $0.05 for a relist and eventually dropped that $0.05 to the initial listing fee and then make the relist cost $0.10 and may even worked up slowly from there Yahoo or AW would not have the Exodus they both experienced!
Seems as though there was a song in the 70's that said "Take it easy!"
Heck! I would just like 1,000,000 folks to send me $0.01 a month for the rest of my life and I would be quite content!

TPTB at AW are stupid if they read here that people are in favor of FVFs and then just assumed that the same logic would apply to their own services. There is a major difference in the services provided by AW and the services provided by Yahoo auctions. DUH.
