Good morning all, I am going to start auctions on Yahoo and am wondering how all you folks who have feedback on eBay take advantage of your eBay feedback. I know eBay will not allow a link to your feedback page, but how do you get your Yahoo bidders to know about your positive fb on eBay? I sure would like to hear any/all ideas from you experienced Yahoo auctioneers. Thanks in advance....!

Hello snuffie! I have seen several ads on Yahoo where the seller puts a little paragraph in explaining how they are new to Yahoo, but have been selling on eBay and invite potential bidders to check out their eBay FB and include their eBay ID.
I think it is against Yahoo's User Agreement to put a clickable link in your Yahoo auctions taking people directly to eBay and as you already mentioned eBay doesn't allow it either. I have seen ads that do that, but they are taking a chance of being reported through Yahoo's "Neighborhood Watch" feature located on the top of each auction page!

Hi Snuffie:
When I first started selling on Yahoo in October I included this sentence in all my auctions:
I'm new seller on Yahoo but have established great feedback at another online auction site. If you have any questions, please e-mail me.
The word "email" was a clickable link with my e-mail address.
My sales were fine. I never had a single query about my feedback and dropped the sentence in late December.
I sell low-priced items. Perhaps that is the reason. However, I really do think that the value of positive feedback is overrated. It is the amount of negative feedback that scares bidders away.

I thank you for being so fast in helping me. I will probably add the sentence in my description for a while at least. Good luck to you both...

I have a clickable link to my eBay feedback in my Yahoo listings (have had since starting here), and have never been told to stop doing it. My Yahoo feedback is now 100 more than my eBay feedback, but I like to keep the link since I have listings on both auctions again. I haven't dared put the link to my Yahoo feedback in my eBay listings.
I come across many, many Yahoo (and eBay) listings containing links to sellers' websites where other items are for sale (which is against Terms on BOTH auctions). I don't know if you can only get away with it until someone complains, or if the Auctions aren't strictly enforcing the rules.

I agree with Irene/Stockticker's post. Pos FB is overrated in my book too.
When I started selling on Yahoo I didn't do ANYTHING to let buyers know I had pos FB on Ebay. I started selling with 0 FB, I didn't even buy anything first.People bought things from me anyway. (although I started buying on Yahoo shortly after I started selling there, and that helped pump up my FB a little.)
As a buyer, I'll buy low priced items from anyone, even someone with no feedback, as long as they don't have negs for non-delivery. I will send as much as a couple hundred bucks to a seller if I really want the item and if I've dealt with them before or if they have a lot of positive feedback. (I wouldn't send that much to a 0 FB seller.) I won't send more than $300 to ANY seller that I haven't dealt with before, regardless of their feedback rating.
