A few days back, a customer emailed me to ask if I'd received her PAyDirect payment. I hadn't. I gave her the instructions VeryModern posted in the PAyDirect thread to cancel the transaction in case of sending to the wrong email address. The customer emailed me back saying that she sent it to the right address & she has a valid receipt number for the transaction. She asked me to check my account again. Well, I checked again, & I even was able to enter the receipt number she gave me- but it gave me an error message when I did so. "Invalid receipt".

Now what do I do? I have been trying to figure out where PayDirect customer service might be located but all I can find is their online "help" directory which of course is no help at all for this.

CAgrrl - I think she is either mistaken or lying. Sorry. I have had 4 payments via Paydirect and all 4 went completely smooth.

I got a notice from Yahoo and then went to my acct. where you are given an option to accept or refuse. I imagine that when a seller "accepts" the buyer gets a email and I will help you check this out if you want.

This means if she actually sent you the money, she should have notification of you accepting it..

See what I mean?
I will try to verify what I am saying. I have the 3 id's and will send myself a little cash..
I'll be back.

Okay.. I sent me some money and instantly got this:
>>>>>>
XXXXXX XXXXXXX ([email protected]) has sent you money through Yahoo!
PayDirect.

You can receive your money at the following link:
>>>>>>
I will post if another notice comes after I accept the payment.

okay...
more info.
As "sender" no reciept is emailed when you send money, and I have also not gotten notice of "sendee" accepting.

However, if I go to sender's HISTORY and click the number next to the transaction, it looks like this:

Receipt - Money Sent
Status:
Cleared
PayDirect receipt #
XXXXXX
Money sent on:
08/29/2000
Money sent to:
XXXXXXXXXXXX
Recipient's email:
[email protected]
Message title:

Message:

Amount sent:
$1.00
Withdrawn from account:
PayDirect: XXXX-XXXXXXX-XX
~~~~~
Ask the buyer to send you the reciept and see if he/she sends something in this format, with your address of course.
Don't know if it will help, but here is the info I have for them:
E-Mail - [email protected]
Phone - (408) 731-3335 8 AM - 6 PM Pacific
Would give you their address, but don't think you want to wait for snail mail about this situation.
Bless you both for the helpful info. I'll let you know what happens.
I should add that it does seem like she's mistaken/lying but I refuse to believe that someone would go that far over a $10 set of cook books- this whole thing really must be some maddening glitch.
auctionee- I called the number & got a recorded message that repeated for awhile & then hung up on me. that happened twice. I made the call at about 5:10 PST so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe they only work til' 5:00.
So of course then I emailed, but by now it's 5:30 & I don't think there's any way I'll be getting help before tomorrow. I hope this sort of thing doesn't happen regularly!
I get a number of folks who tell me that they sent money, and I do not receive it.
In almost all cases, I send them my account name again and tell them that this is a common problem, that my name is unusual, and it is easily mispelled. That they are to contact paypal and correct it.
They do, and I get the money.
In a couple of cases, the money has not come thru because the folks finally tell me that PayPal will not let them send money on their credit card.
I really like PayPal!!
unfortunately I just discovered that my email bounced back to me. Auctionee, would you mind telling me where you found the email address? I may possibly have mistyped it but I tried a few times & all the emails were bounced back.
OK, I guess I'll try the phone again.
OK guys guess what?!!!?!?!?!?
I got a real live Yahoo PayDirect employee on the phone who was able to tell me that my customer DID send payment to the wrong email address.
I will do my best to refrain from calling this customer extremely unprofessional names, even to you guys here in this forum. I'm sure you guys understand my annoyance at her at this point though, since I have now sent her 2 emails explaining how to delete transactions in the PAyDirect system, not to mention that I had all of you guys here jumping through hoops to help- for which I apologize.
The good new is that PayDirect help is readily available! The number auctionee posted is as good as gold; I recommend that you guys who accept PayDirect add it to your rolodex ASAP!
Thank you to all of you who posted to this thread!! A million hugs, good, wishes, & good Karma to you!
Oh, thanks auctionee. I appreciate the info! I think I have my letter somewhere. Haven't opened it yet; all mail that doesn't look like auction payment is generally getting ignored until the weekend.
