Ok here is the deal, I hear a lot of whinings about the Seller Performance bonus plan. Lets get down to the basic. Lets talk about your performace,
My Listing: 300-330 everyday
My Sell Rate: 37% sale weekly
My Rating: Get approx. 30 feedbacks everyday
If you list 30 auctions a month & sell 1 item every month (yes over pricedsalt shakers do get lots of attentions) why are you worried about running out.

great thread!
However, my stats from last month are completely irrelevant as I listed & sold next to nothing. (Haven't even done my August month-end paperwork yet but it should be cake compared to what it usually is.)
I went on an inventory buying spree this past month. Happily, all my pos FBs from the things I bought on Yahoo are upping my # of available auctions!!!!
Here's the deal, though. I'm not selling much now but am a bit anxious about what will happen in October & November, if I'll have enough auctions available to list what I need to list. Much of the stuff I bought is Christmas stuff. IF it doesn't sell I'm dead meat, but it's too early to tell what will happen.
Very interested to see what everyone else posts here.
zzy- somebody on Yahoo was using my Ebay ID when I made the switch to Yahoo so I had to choose a different ID. Probably comic is only comic here on AW. Just to let you know- I'm only CAgrrl on this board- any other CAgrrl you may see elsewhere isn't me!

Cagrrl :
Waiting kinda late to start them christmas Items selling arent you ?!?
many many of my sales since mid july have been hoilday realated , 12 days of christmas glasses , xmas napkin rings xmas lps and tapes, and other decoration for the table and the tree. I thim I have mainly some records left to sell and a sugar and creamer set.
comic123:
WOW sales of 37% every day of 330 items and 30 feed back everyday . thats about 57 items daily thats like 430 sales a week.
30 feed back everyday 210 feed back weekly.
WOW thats 22,360 item per year ,and 10,920 every year.
No wonder you hear whining its not sellers this is the sound your finger in turbo mode typeing and packing.
and buy the way your right salt & pepper shakers do get alot of attention.
in fact it is one of the catagorys on yahoo with a higher bid rateing then most inless you sell electronic and computer hardware and then the computer cat has the bidding but not winning as most item have a $10 or $20 start bid and a big ole reserve that is not met on half.
right now the salt & pepper catagory has
3793 item 160 have bids many of these item have more then one bid one has many bids it high bid is $53 the lowest $1.99
these are highly desirerable collectable I most of these will never see salt or pepper I know people with entire walls in there homes with shelveing from ceiling to floor decorated nothing but these.
we have a antiques shop here in this town where I live that sells mainly salt and pepper & pepper shakers been around over 35 years they have china or carnival glass items as well make a good liveing just selling these.
ok now I have no reason to doubt your stats here. but now yahoo does have a 1000 item limit that incresses for sure but you needed to start out with over 2,500 items either list before this limit took place or you started with 2,500 item limit mid august and we know all started with a thousand.
I have no reason to doubt what you say but.
I would say your sales have to be very down this month or your already Used your limit up for the month.
one new listing is added for every new sale or feed back even if you sell 430 items weekly it will take you about 4 months to get back to just where your sales were at before you can start to grow again.
you sound more like an ebay power seller who earn 20,000 positive feed back over the last 5 year but this still wouild make your numbers out of line.

zz, the last time I actually used my real id here in AW, my auctions got harrassed. I know 2 other sellers that actually sell more than me (quantity not value).
They close about 40-60 auctions daily. As with my auctions, I assume we all get a % of fake bidders. This guy that I know runs a book store & sells his unwanted books in Yahoo dirt cheap. I've never bought from him since he is my direct competition but some of his prices range from $1-3 for a book that retails arounf $9-15. Brand new too.
By the way 60% of my buyers are return buyers. I don't sell salt shakers, I was just kidding about how some category are so successful

Interesting about the S&P shakers. Once I bid on a pair of giraffe S&P shakers that I wanted to give my future mother-in-law for her birthday. She's a fanatice giraffe collector. I couldn't get over how high the bids were for those shakers!! It was unreal!! Had I known then what I now know after reading this thread, I would have bid on a giraffe sweatshirt or something.

Like auctionee, I've been getting one listing "point" for every feedback, but NOTHING for every sale I've had this week. I thought sales would be credited back immediately like the feedback is, but I guess not....
The only sellers I imagine who could possibly be selling the QUANTITY of listings that comic123 is talking about are dealing in very inexpensive items like $1-$2 trading cards.
Considering all the work involved with each transaction, I'd rather stick with a lot LESS sales of HIGHER-DOLLAR items myself. That's one reason using the "sell-through rate" isn't totally fair in determining a seller's success. Generally speaking, the higher the PRICE on Yahoo, the less BIDS you'll have (except for very rare or "hot" items like electronics and **I guess** SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS!!!!!
Guess I'll just have to go find a supplier for giraffe salt and pepper shakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually my products have an average price of $8. You guys want to hear something really insane. I've been shopping around for a PC for some time now. eBay, Yahoo, egghead.com etc., I do shop around for the best prices.
Anyway, this seller in eBay is listing a nice Pentium 3 800mhz with all the perks & his last few auction has always ended with over $1000+ in final price. He seems very professional so I call him (he listed his phone, fax..the whole 9 yards) and he told me that he is selling them at $900 direct.
Also the same computer is selling for $899 in egghead.com (same meaning having the same hardware).

I gave up trying to totally understand the "new 1000 system," and opened a second account to make sure I was covered. So far I don't see I will be running out of auctions on my primary account, between sales and feedback, it seems to be hanging somewhere a bit over 1000 still - although, I have posted probably 200 auctions since the first. I normally keep 200 auctions running, and if things stay as they do, I have no problem with it.
Notoriously, September is the second slowest month in national retail sales, so if I get through this slower month, I think we should be fine.
