When you sign up for Yahoo do you use the same name as you do on ebay?

If that name is available, you can. Otherwise you have to pick a different identity.

Hope this helps you, Charlie

I signed up with yahoo and ebay with a variation of the same name but not the same the reason for this is if I get a wacko buyer who gets into retalatory feed back in one place they wont find my sales on another site.

Not with out a lot of wasted time and effort any how.

That was one reason another is I sell a bit differently at both sites which is more or less nessary both being vary different in pace and additude.

I wanted the same name on Yahoo as I have on Ebay and here, but it wasn't available.

So, I have a different name on Yahoo...

I use the same name on both ebay and Yahoo (not this one). Since I only have 27 feedback on Yahoo, I always reference my ebay feedback of over 700 so they can go look at that if they're worried about buying from me. Had one good week where three people bought from me on Yahoo and then went over and bid on several of my items on ebay.

I use the same name on eBay as on Yahoo. Mine was available, and I think it helps as frequently I have bidders who have bid on eBay, and they can check my feedback there where it is much higher. Although my feedback is respectable on Yahoo, it is about 1/10th of my eBay feedback.

my ebay ID was taken and although I wanted to use it when I registered for Yahoo, it wasn't possible. It didn't bother me much then & now I'm happy about it anyway for the same reason Dman said; maybe he & I are both paranoid but still, better safe than sorry.

I've never referenced feedback between the two sites. It didn't make a difference to my sales that I know of. The merchandise that I sell on the 2 sites is pretty different- the stuff that I sell on Ebay is mostly stuff in a small niche category that has little or no customer base on Yahoo. My Yahoo sales are mostly stuff that I can fix a price on- mostly toys, but some clothes, books, etc.

Thanks for all your information. I registered tonight and someone has my user name so I took an alltogether different one. I don't think it will make any difference. I am going to try the 1st bid wins because I think I will have trouble keeping the two sites straight. I have a problem when I list more than 10 on ebay. I always think I am sending the wrong item to the buyer so imagine when I have two sites going. It should be a trip.
Thanks again all!!

Libra- something I've found that works pretty well in keeping the sites straight is, put SITE & item # in email subject lines- not just an item #. Also put the site & item # in the body of your emails. Usually customers will just print out your entire email & send it to you with payment, especially if you request that they do so. (I do.) It makes things a lot easier, especially if you have identical items listed on both sites at the same time.
