I took some of the wonderful advice I got off one of the newbie threads here, and added photos to my Yahoo auctions with "Edit Description" under the Manage feature. However, the photos still don't show up when I do a search and choose "Show Photos". Does it take a while for the servers to update, or did I do something wrong? Should I be listing directly from the Yahoo pages rather than using AW?

pickersangel,
The ONLY way to have a "thumbnail" photo on Yahoo Auction's "Show Photos Only" (their "gallery" view of listings) is to upload the photo DIRECTLY ONTO YAHOO on the submission page when you first write the listing. Where it says "Add Photos. (Optional)" there's a button that says "Upload Photos". Click it, click "Browse", find the photo on your computer and double-click it, then wait til it appears in the "Photo" box on the upper right. (You can upload three photos, which will all be centered ABOVE your description on the auction listing page, and the FIRST YOU UPLOAD will be the "thumbnail" on "Show Photos".) Click "Done" or the upload won't go through, and you'll be back on the submission page, where you'll see the photo(s) under the "Upload Photos" button with a number in front of each. When you view the final page before hitting "Submit Auction", the UPLOADED PHOTO(S) will be ABOVE your description, and the FIRST will be the thumbnail.

Initially before recent changes yahoo coding wouldn't capture a thumbnail, when using Yahoo's bulk loader. That is no longer the case. I never load pics to yahoo and my pics show up when Show Photos option is selected!

The take home message is that my auctions won't show up on "Show Photos" if I use Auction Manager/Auction Manager Pro to upload my listings, correct? I have to use either the Yahoo listing page or the Yahoo bulk uploader. Is there an easy way to transfer data from AM/AM Pro to the Yahoo listers?

Hello there pickersangel!
I chose to use yahoo bulk lister due to the fact I sell items that might have to run for a month before they sell so I have a large amount relists. I was looking for the quickest way to relist a large number of listings, the simplest and the easiest way for myself was to store my pics on other site. Then simply upload the yauction_batch.csv file which only takes a few seconds to load

You will have to create a spreadsheet then cut and paste your description text and pic addresses from AW listing to your yauctions_batch.csv spreadsheet file.

You can't use Yahoo's bulk uploader until you have a feedback rating of 5. As far as pictures go, apparently if you zip them with Winzip they can be uploaded with your yauction_batch.csv file.

Most jpgs have already have been compressed, you can use a zip file to upload. However, the time difference between the zip file and straight upload is negligible for uploading pics.

kcpick4u: Can you send individual unzipped photos with the bulk uploader? I thought I read that it had to be in the form of a WinZip file which would include all the pictures zipped in one file.

Yes, you can but very time consuming! When I first used their bulk loader no html in description which meant no thumnail! so I uploaded a photo which had the following text within it "1st Bid Wins Auction Here"
Then in my batch file I placed that pic in each auction pic field so my listings would receive exposure when "Show Photos" option was selected! The way I do it now because of yahoo's recent changes is load pics to your site use their upload tool then use html in the description field to pull you pics from your site. Then when you need to relist your auction listings you are simply uploading a text only file which takes only seconds since it is only a text file at this point it loads very quickly.
Sorry Irene! Let me clarify something! you can't load a jpg with a batch file. However, you can upload a single jpg to yahoo from that page! Still too time consuming!
