My elder son wrote me this morning, he has been active on Yahoo for a couple of years. He only deals in coins. He wrote this morning asking if I had heard anything about the odd price denominations which were showing up on his auctions and those of an acquaintance of his who also deals in coins.
He said this had only began occurring in the last few days. I went in and looked, then looked at some posts I did last night. Mine are appearing normal, but his aren't.
I have an idea that this is something unique to the coin section, but the dealers over there were not aware of any changes till this began.
Take a look at this - this is the way his list of auctions appear which is older, and note the PRICE list and the way it is written.
Have any of you encountered this oddity happening in your newest auctions?
I don't see how anyone wishing to bid would know what the price was from this weird type of posting.
Any thoughts or comments are welcome...and desired....
Oh, yes, one comment, my son isn't a child who made a boo boo and isn't aware of it. My son attended West Point, and is almost 40, so this isn't the boo boo of a child, but something weird happening on Yahoo.

Appears that part of the category name is being pulled into the price field. Note that dimes have DIM and quarters QUA. Expect it is a system glich.

Your sons coins are being listed as if he is in another country. Anytime you can click on the price and get a conversion to U.S. currency, it is as if he is out of the United States?

This is almost certainly the result of a corrupted database at Yahoo. That will make all kinds of weird things like this happen.
It this were eBay, I would say get ready for a crash, but Yahoo seems to be much better at dealing with this kind of problem.
In this case, he might try ending an auction and then relisting it. Depending on how the database works, this might fix the problem.
Otherwise, he'll either have to wait for Yahoo to fix it, or close the auctions and doing the listing over -- as opposed to using Yahoo's "relist".

Thanks gang - as I said, this is happening to others in the coin section - so it isn't unique to him. But appreciate the responses, just wondered if it was occurring in any other sections.
I'm sorry, I have just noticed that a user ID and a link to his auctions are included in your opening post. I realize this is your son's auctions and you're not trying to promote them, but the Community Guidelines prohibit posting such information unless you also invite the seller.
I'm going to lock the thread in order to stay within the Guidelines. If you wish to continue this discussion, please follow the procedure outlined in the CGs for inviting the seller.
