Someone is shopping Yahoo.
I have an item that has made it to the front page of catagory. 24 bids, with 2449 hits, 9 people watching and 1 day to go.

A few weeks ago yahoo counters were messed up when the counters started working again half of my auction counters were reading 19,000 veiws two days later they corected this back to the actual amount of veiws for each.
but 9 on your watch list and 24 bids is top notch stuff for sure glad to see veiwing and bidding is back on the rise.
my veiws have picked up to but bidding in the catagories I list in are still down all I get are windows shoppers.

I'm very happy for you! That's so cool! I am VERY VERY relieved to hear that there is stuff out there moving, even if it isn't mine!
I am so dying to ask you what your HOT item is. I know better but I'm still curious!!!

My new trick is going to be to get something going like this every 10 days. Something tasty, listed low w/o reserve. It is terrific exposure. The counter on my web page is spinning also, auction is now at 2684!

Yeah, great tip dman, but that's all I have. I was just trying to clean out, and the attention was a completely unexpected bonus. I would have been happy with the opening bid. No kidding - I just want it gone.
3110 right now, it's turning like a slot machine.
Next week I will be FAR more deliberate.
In the past I don't think I have ever gotten more than 4 or 500 hits on Yahoo and my all time high was on Ebay - Life size Yoda 736 hits.

So here is what I am learning -
Only 1 out of every 30 or 40 looks goes to our website.
Far more traffic in the evening, way WAY more, check the times on my post and how the count has picked up.

heljoe - to be candid I'd rather not because of horror stories I have read on these boards. I just thought it was good info to share. Proof of traffic on Yahoo.

Courteous as to the number of bids you received. Part of the reason I am using mostly "1st Bid Wins" is that you see on most of the closed auctions only 1 bid anyway!

ladele, I know that. I am the person who started using "1st bid wins" and wrote and wrote and wrote about it on these boards for the last 6-8 months! This was back when I was the village idiot around here. It is not just because you only get one bid, it is because auctions are in fact a FAD and not the best way to sell most things. I have also wrote until I am cross-eyed about that.
*Most* people want to go to Target and buy a TV at a fair price and take it home. They do not want to place a bid and then come back to see if they "got" it. In RL, what percentage of people attend auctions? Almost NONE! People don't have time for c***! I am meaning with most purchases.. They want it and get out of there.
This auction was a fluke. I put a bunch of "junk to me" together to sell as a lot cheap and someone(s) must of seen something tasty in the pile so they bid and bid and bid.
That is not to say that I will not try to repeat the "fluke". It was quite incredible to see the numbers spin at their peak. I saw more than 25 hits in 60 seconds at one point. That's the power of Yahoo.
This won't be very popular, but I am beginning to appreciate the way that Yahoo favors effective sellers. Not that I am claiming to be one, I can just see the sense in what they are doing at this point, and I can also see the sense in aligning with it.

You hit a great one, just to see BIDDING and HITS was more the fun of it all than the selling I'm sure...
But what you really hit on, was the really a LOST LEADER idea, to get people to look at other things on your auctions.
I have found when one item attacts me, I always look at the persons other items to see if they have more of the same I like.
This is why featuring an item in different catagories can lead people to the rest of your items, if not that item.
But oh that had to be exciting to be on the FRONT PAGE with tons of bids.............
