I had a problem, It seems that the name and address on the card must match the name and address on the yahoo account for the card to be accepted. hope this helps

I've taken far more credit cards than checks. Why in the world are all these enterprises so hung up on credit cards?Cathe

Cathe - it verifies who you are - AND IS GREATLY NEEDED AT YAHOO with their 30% Dead Beat Bidder Ratio - perhaps this will eliminate some of the kids, and the unschooled.....Yahoo has GREAT potential if they can get by the Dead Beat Bidder Problem - particularly with the massive problems at Ebay

Cathe, I wondered that too - but I rather suspect we're dealing with an extremely small and skewed sample space here, so the "no credit cards, I'd rather die" group seems larger than it is in 3D. Most adults use credit cards. One takes more risk giving it to a total stranger in a restaurant and letting him walk away with it for minutes at a time than giving it to any SSL site.

I don't have a credit card, but recently thought of using my atm/check card. It worked. Now I'm back on Yahoo, although in a small way for now.

Sorry. I was in a hurry when I posted before on here and messed it up. I meant I have taken more BAD credit cards than checks.I understand Amazon will accept debit cards in lieu of credit cards now. On the other hand, why would they want to establish this credit card thing as yet another layer one has to get through when eBay doesn't require it? Yahoo and Amazon killed some potential migration from eBay when they did the credit card number.

Wouldn't requiring a credit card ensure our safety as buyers and sellers knowing that those BAD buyers and sellers could be tracked ?? Hopefully, this would make them think twice about fradulent transactions. What does everybody think about using an internet escrow company?
