I just signed up for the gallery service today, and am a bit disappointed. I currently have the 'Increased traffic' style template enabled. Though it does look good in my listing, I am disappointed that the customization options are extremely limited. Is there any plans or a way to have a gallery for a particular auction(s) display ONLY cross promotion items for other items in that particular store category?

As of now, it seems like it just lists every single item on that particular site (for me, its ebay motors)...which is not particularly good especially if you have a lot of items and looking for targeted traffic.

Please advise, thank you

Hello,

There is not a way to specify which specific items are shown in the Gallery for certain listings, unfortunately. The way the Gallery works is that it detects the category that the item is in, and then displays other items that are in that same category. If there are less than 24 items in that same category, then the Gallery will display items in other categories as well. In your case currently, on basic eBay all of your items are shown as you do not have many active basic eBay listings. For eBay Motors all of your listings are in the same category, so they are all shown in each listing. (Note that the Gallery uses the eBay category, rather than the eBay store category.)

Nathan

Hi Nathan, I appreciate the prompt reply.

That is no problem, however, I wish there was a way to at least specify how you 'sort' the display of the items...like my highest to lowest price instead of just by ending date.

And is there any way to make the 'traffic boost' gallery scroll like the other gallery formats? I think it'd be much more effective than having the user having to manually press the 'down' arrow

thanks again

Hello,

Unfortunately, the only way for the Gallery to scroll automatically would be if you selected the "Marquee" version of the Gallery from your Gallery preferences page (note that this change would apply to your future new listings).

Nathan

Thanks much for your prompt reply, Nathan.

Approximately how long does it take for saved changes to your gallery to migrate to ebay? I did some color editing yesterday that still has yet to take effect on my live items

Thanks again

Hello,

The HTML code that makes the gallery appear in a certain location, using a certain style or color/layout is added to the listings when the gallery itself is added. Unfortunately that means that changes to those settings can only be reflected in the listings that you submit going forward, where the gallery is adding itself to them anew.

Chris

Hi Chris, thanks for that information

Last question, I promise:

If that is indeed the case, then how do I get the new gallery revisions to retro-actively be applied to previous auctions? Or will I have to manually go in and cut and paste the code for each old auction? Seems a bit time consuming...

Thank you for your help

Hello,

If you would like we can run a tool to remove the Gallery HTML code from all of your active listings, where possible. We can then run another tool to reattach the current Gallery to your listings. Please let us know if we should do this now.

Regards,
Nathan
