Some of my listings are not being recognized by the gallery in the correct subcategory...

eg.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem&item=8145980429

This listing is clearly categorized under

Listed in category: Crafts > Stamping > Stamps > Mounted > Baby

as noted by the eBay breadcrumb string at the top of the page... It should be listed under the "Baby" subcategory but instead just get listed under the general "Mounted" category and not one level below it...

This item on the other hand gets listed under the correct subcategory...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41260&item=8175820331

Listed in category: Crafts > Stamping > Stamps > Mounted > Flowers, Leaves

Why are some working and some not?

Can this be overridden?

Hello,

If there aren't enough items in the specific category the gallery is being placed into, at the time it was placed, to fill it - it will go down one level until it can be filled.

The gallery shows 24 items as a default (you can always scroll through more) - so if there aren't 24 items in the Baby specific category, it will go to the mounted category and try to find enough to get to 24 items.

There would be a way to override this, but it would involve your adding the HTML code to each listing description manually when you launch and editing the code to point to a specific category number. If you would be interested in this let me know and I can send you the template and a few directions on doing so.

Christopher

Hello,

Click on the left side of the Control Panel to view your gallery preferences, then click the link to generate the HTML manually.

Look into the code closely for two sections that look like this:

clink=0x008000&cat=0"

Just change the zero to an eBay category number (you can use the subcategory numbers) and it will automatically sort into those specific items.

For example, if you change the zero to 31740, it will default the gallery to show Crafts > Stamping > Stamps.

Or you could get more specific and put in the number for the next level up: 41252 - which would default the gallery to Crafts > Stamping > Stamps > Mounted.

Regards,
Christopher
