We set up our shop and I went to test the checkout process by making a purchase. When I completed the billing and shipping address, and then clicked on the paypal payment option, a confirmation email was sent to the email account we used for that order confirming my purchase.

The issue is that we had not even completed the checkout process and paid via paypal. paypal had not even finished loading yet.

Is there some sort of setting to halt the email confirming their purchase until after they actually pay?

Also, the checkout process asks for your shipping and billing address, but when i paid via paypal i left my old address selected in my paypal account and it seems like the address info they entered before does not even show in paypal when we checked the account as if we were going to ship the order.

This would normally not be a huge issue, but for those that print the postage and shipping info in paypal it could cause some issues with maybe shipping to a wrong address and not being able to manually update the address to the correct oen they typed in during the checkout process.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Please help.

Hello,

The checkout confirmation email will be sent once the buyer goes through checkout, but before payment is made. It is not possible to delay the email, however you may turn it off or edit it if you like. This can be done by going to "Preferences" (at the top right of most pages in your Vendio account) --> then select "Items" from the drop-down box at the top of the page and edit the "Vendio Store Sales Email Notification" section.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to update the PayPal shipping address in PayPal by entering a different shipping address in the Vendio checkout. You might want to consider managing the orders through your Vendio account, where you would see the shipping address that the buyer entered during Vendio checkout.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks for the quick reply. I will turn off the email.

I turned on the IPN and paypal now sends an email detailing their purchase. That is good enough for me.

I turned off the email last night on vendio, but we made another purchase to see how the Paypal IPN worked out and I still received the confirmation email from vendio before payment was made to paypal.

I followed the instructions and put "no, do not send email", but it was still sent. I just don't want people to come back later and ask where their items are when they never completed the payment process.

Not sure what else to do to get it to stop.

Hello,

Could you please forward us a copy of one of the emails, so that we can take a look? There are quite a few different email options in your account, and it is possible this is being sent from a different option.

Regards,
Nathan

Just did, thanks. It took us a while to find a site like vendio and we are really excited to be able to offer our inventory here. We are just trying to work out any issues before telling customers to go here.

Thanks.
