Senior Java Developer

Vendio is seeking full time Senior Java Developers with solid programming knowledge and experience. You will work on features and services for Vendio and MoreCommerce, leading US eCommerce web sites.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Development team to implement web-based applications for the Vendio and MoreCommerce sites
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Web Design teams to define user-driven features and services
  • Design and code applications from conception to launch
  • Contribute to application and site architecture
  • Verify and actively drive application quality and performance
  • Support Customer Service and QA teams by quickly providing solutions for bugs
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends on the web
Mandatory Skills:
  • BSc degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong software development skills
  • Excellent with Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Experience in web development
  • Java programming
  • Well organized with clear, effective communication skills
Optional/Pluses:
  • Experience with Spring and Hibernate
  • Experience in working with MySQL
  • Project Management experience

System Engineer

Vendio is seeking 2 full time System Engineers to help grow our US eCommerce platform. Be part of a team responsible for the design, deployment and support of a high performance, highly available Internet-based service infrastructure.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and document system infrastructure and configurations
  • Implement and coordinate system development tasks (including design and integration)
  • Propose, implement and/or deploy infrastructure projects (standalone or in collaboration with development teams)
  • Active role in managing transitions from development and QA environments into production
  • Work closely with development and QA to troubleshoot and resolve defects
  • Disaster recovery support (including implementation and deployment of such solutions)
  • Availability for operational on-call support as part of a 24*7 team located in the US and Romania
Mandatory Skills:
  • Very good experience with Linux (various distributions) - including deployment and administration of large-scale installations
  • Experience with LAMP or Java-based application platforms
  • Experience with network management, configuration and monitoring
  • Good knowledge of various Linux-based network/Internet related services
  • Good knowledge of MySQL
  • Strong coordination, organization and communication abilities
  • Fluent in English
Optional/Pluses:
  • Experience with virtualization
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with datacenter operations
  • Experience with NAS systems
